If you are an end user of one of our users' sites and want to know how a user handles your information, please refer to their privacy policy. If you want to know what we do for our own purposes, please continue reading.

If you are a user, you can refer to our Data Processing Addendum for more information on how we process User Content on your instructions or with your permission.

How do we protect your information?

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of authorized individuals who have special access rights and are required to keep the information confidential. We implement a variety of security measures, including encryption via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, to maintain the safety of your personal information. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

We prioritize the security of your data and, for that reason, we use the services of one of the leading cloud server providers, Amazon. All data is stored on secured, GDPR-compliant Amazon Cloud Servers in the United States. For more information on the Data Protection Addendum from Amazon, please review this PDF file: [link to PDF file].

How do we share your information?

We do not sell the personal information of Internet Academy users to third parties. We do not share or pass on any personal information without your explicit consent, unless:

  • We are legally obligated to do so.
  • It is necessary to fulfill contractual services for the Internet Academy user or to enforce the rights and obligations of the terms of use and the corresponding contractual relationship between the user and Internet Academy.
  • In order to perform the Internet Academy service, we may need to use third-party services. In such cases, data may be shared with the companies listed in Annex A.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, update, change, or delete personal information (or that of your end users) either directly in your account or by contacting us at privacy@internetacademy.com to request the required changes. You can also exercise your other rights, including deleting your account, by contacting us at the same email address. To request all the collected data, you can fill out the Data Request Form [provide link].

You also have the right to opt out of receiving marketing materials via email by changing your preferences in your Account Settings.

Please note that, for technical reasons, there may be a delay in deleting your personal information from our systems when you request its removal. We also retain personal information in order to comply with the law, protect our rights and others' rights, resolve disputes, enforce our legal terms or policies, and to the extent permitted under applicable law.

The content on your Internet Academy website

All information that you publish on your Internet Academy website can generally be viewed by other internet users. Therefore, we encourage you to be careful and responsible for any personal information and confidential data you publish on your website. Please keep in mind that password-protected areas do not provide absolute protection against unauthorized access, and files uploaded to password-protected websites can still be accessed via direct links.

As users may have seasonal sites or return to us after an account becomes inactive, we do not immediately delete personal information when a trial expires or all paid services are canceled. Instead, we keep personal information for a reasonable period of time so that it will be available if users choose to come back.

You may delete your account by going to your Account Settings and clicking on Delete Account. Please note that the full deletion of an account may take up to 90 days to complete across all systems of Internet Academy.

Administrative access to your Internet Academy website

Please be aware that Internet Academy team members are authorized to access the administrative section of your Internet Academy website in specific situations when fulfilling customer service requests and tracking errors. This access grants them the ability to view all parts of your Internet Academy site, including password-protected areas.

We are not liable for your relationship with your end users or the collection and use of their personal information, even if collected from us or using Internet Academy functionality, cookies, or similar technologies. We do not provide legal advice regarding such matters.

Regarding end users' payment information, it may be processed by third-party eCommerce Payment Processors with which you integrate your account. This processing is subject to the terms and policies of the respective eCommerce Payment Processors.
